Work Study
Our work study program has been instrumental in increasing student attendance, academic achievement, and building strong relationships with teachers. The program begins with a formal application process that puts the onus on students to honor deadlines, meet attendance and academic benchmarks, write a personal narrative and follow through on mandates. After selection, students are matched with teachers and other staff members in the community. Assignments vary and placements take into account student interest, student strengths and more importantly student growth areas. Positions include after school tutoring, working at the school safety front desk, community event promoter/advertiser, supply room organizer and clerical workers.
Work study is a stipend based program.
