Dear High School Senior,

Congratulations on entering your senior year at Bronx Collegiate Academy! I am the secretary / Student Activities Coordinator (C.O.S.A.). this year, and I'm excited to be working with the Class of 2023 on the homestretch of a long journey. The 12th grade team and I will send you updates via your BCA email throughout the school year. I'd also like to share some important information with you about how to have a successful senior year and graduate with your class. By senior year, your PTG (Progress Towards Graduation) has become an important metric for determining whether you are on track to graduate. To be considered on track for graduation, you should have at least 30 credits at the start of your senior year. You should contact Ms.Moellinger if you have any questions about your PTG.

During the month of September and October, seniors will have the opportunity to schedule their CCRP (College and Career Readiness) with Ms. Ramos. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with your college advisor  one on one to discuss your progress toward graduation, college, and career options. Please keep an eye out for more information on how to schedule your appointment. Attendance/Citizenship– One of the keys to achieving academic success is to have good attendance. It is difficult for students and teachers when student attendance is not a priority. You are all getting close to moving on to college and career options post high school. Consider your attendance as if school were a paying job and you will be successful.

Last of all, take the time to enjoy and savor your senior year. Attend games, fine arts performances, dances, assemblies, and enjoy time with friends. Our hope is that you can look back at your high school experience as a launching pad for your future.

All the best,

Samantha Blanco
